Freebie Friday: Halloween!

Happy Friday everyone! This week has gone by quickly for me even though we've had two days of indoor recess! Wednesday most of the classes were able to go out but then it started raining *right* before my class was scheduled. My kiddos were quite happy with having a little choice time, though! Thursday started out rainy and soon turned to SNOW after the kids arrived. Remember that beautiful, big window in my room? It made for a small distraction for, well, the whole day. Luckily it was just wet snow and didn't stick!

Next week will be crazy for me- I have conferences Tues. and Thurs. evening and Friday afternoon. I'm sure the kids will be fantastic and mellow with Halloween and all...yeah right! We are having a PJ day that day. Maybe it will make them think they are tired? ;) Here are some Halloween freebies that I have found from around the internet. Have a great weekend!

Freebie Friday

Sorry I've been MIA- I've been SO busy at school! I met my kiddos on Wednesday evening and I can't believe we will be a big, happy family for two years! My oldest also met his teacher Wednesday night and Dad had to do all the work since I was still at school. I'm bummed that I couldn't be there with him and it made me think of all of the things I will miss out on. I feel for all you teacher-moms out there!

In happier news, here are today's freebies that I've found!

(and a whole lot more free notebooking printables)

The Task Card group at ProTeacher- LOTS of free task card sets!

Teacher Week: Freebie Friday

A little change this week as I'm following along with Teacher Week over at Blog Hoppin'...I've created two freebies for you!

I love the "Find Somone Who" ice-breaker game where students go around and find someone who can answer a specific topic (ex. "Find someone who is an only child" or "Find someone who has been on an airplane"). I have created one for my class to use and I thought I'd share it with you.

You can find it here on Google Docs.

I also have created Partner Cards. It is a pack of 30 cards that will help you put your class into groups of two, three, four/five, and six-person groups. The kids grab a card and then you can call out what image they should match to find their group.

You can find the cards here on Google Docs.

I also have my Daily 5 Check-In sheet (for 25 students, three rounds a day) on Google Docs, too!

Happy Weekend! I'm off to our cabin before I go back for Teacher Workshops on Monday!

There is also another cute Olympic Memories printable in this post!

And Christina Bainbridge from Bunting, Books, and Bainbridge just posted her Collaborative First Day Tips booklet. I have a little tip in there about morning work on the first day.

Freebie Friday

I wanted to start something new on Fridays...

I have found great resources through the blogosphere and Teachers Pay Teachers, etc. and I want to share those with you! Here are some of my recent favorite freebies:

Since I've been blogging about the book study over at We Read, We Blog, We Teach,

Sandy at Soaring Through Second has been sharing freebies for each day of her vacation!

One of my favorite blogs, Clutter Free Classroom, has flash freebies in the summer.

And one of my TPT favorites is from Page & Christy- a free lesson for Popcorn and Movie Day!
Of course those movie days are educational!

Friday Free-For-All

It's Friday, the last day of freedom for me. Monday I will be sitting through meetings at school (one of which I have to lead, too).

Today I have two free documents that I have created. The first is a mini monthly scrapbook I created for first grade. You can use the document as is or make it larger if you'd like. It is small because we have a time capsule that we create at the beginning of first grade that we open at the end of the year. This little book will be kept in their capsules and taken out (by me) each month. I chose one important unit or event that represented each month for the kids to write/draw about.

The second is a list of activities to promote vocabulary acquisition in math. I was on a PLC a few years back and we researched vocabulary and how to encourage the retention of words. These games can easily be adapted to other subjects, too!
